Second credit card with the same bank
Discussion
So i'll shortly be starting a new role, where travel will be involved and i'll be paying for hotels/food etc then claiming it back.
I currently have a personal credit card through Halifax that i use frequently.
Ideally for the new role i'd like to take out a second card that i purely pay for anything work related on - I'm aware it's not necessary but makes it easier for me to keep track of and manage, pay for everything on that, claim it back, pay it off.
From what i read online there's no reason i cannot have a second credit card with the same bank - Is there any disadvantage to this?
For pure simplicity it means i can keep it on the same app etc etc.
I'm not against having it somewhere else if there is a benefit to this? spending will be 99% of the time within UK & Ireland.
Thanks

Some banks dont allow customers to have 2 credit cards, I work for a bank & it’s only very recently allowed customers to have 2, they wont allow 2 of the same types though (2x Visa cards is a no no but 1 Visa & 1 Mastercard is ok)
I’d definately look elsewhere though, have a look for a cashback card or one with a points reward system, if it’s juat for work expenses make it work for you

I've had multiple cards with several providers over the years.
But I'd echo the comment above - go for the card that gives you the biggest cashback/ cashback equivalent as a perk.
I personally use the BA Amex black (has an annual fee) and collect BA avios. I also then have a Virgin Mastercard as a backup.
This means that whatever we spend (work or home life), we collect airmiles which I then spend on the family for trips away.
