Historically I've had a decent credit rating, usually floating around the higher end of the scale.
December last year moved house after splitting with the ex which required total renovation.
This has hit my credit rating down to the middle of the band.

The renovation mostly went on interest free credit, up to the sum of £20k. I've now spent most of what i need to, and the balance has come down to around 12k. And is being chipped away around 1 to 1.5k a month at present.

The highlights on the credit score being bad are moved address, credit accounts being over 50% usage and general high borrowing amount overall, and numerous new account's being opened.

I now only have 1 account over the 50% threshold, and paying off a fair chunk each month. Closed a couple unused credit cards, and a loan gone.

My question is, how long does it take for the score typically take to recover once issues sorted?
I've lived here for 10 months, and just owe on a Creation loan, Paypal and a Credit card.

Only time will increase it. It will increase incrementally as your address history increases and your credit car balances decrease.

Don't get hung up on the score the credit reference agencies give you, they are not indicative of a lenders requirements or internal scorecard.

Make sure you are reflected on the electoral roll on your credit file and make sure you don't miss any payments, they will sort you out smile

Great, thanks Sarnie. I was hoping you would reply.

The reason for my concern is for re-mortgaging in the next couple of months.
