I have a min of 100k, up to 150k to invest for 14 months.
Where do the collective brainpower of the Pistonheads finance experts consider the best place to invest this?
Can't afford to lose it, so horses, casino, etc not really an option..
Thanks!

Watching with interest , as I probably have very soon 600K or there about proceeds from house sale and likely to need to hold for 18 months to 2 years while house build gets kicked off ( Ie I wont need those funds until min 18 months )

Assume all that ISA maxed already Permium bonds no, but thats not mutch of a dent . Sorry for hijack , but in reality my question is probbaly same as yours, OP

(or similar) is the only sensible option in my opinion. You definitely shouldn't be looking at anything more risky than cash savings.

Premium Bonds, £50k. Couple £100k. Absolutely safe, as is any NS and I product.

FRB with a bank as already mentioned.

T212 offering 4.9% on cash held with them, but a third may not be absolutely secure.

I’m soon to have similar from a house sale combined with then working away until April 2026.

Easy option is just a decent anytime access savings rate of between 4~5% with various banks. I think there’s a few restricted access with higher. Or savings bond as mentioned above.

Vanguard S&P500 potentially a bit better, but slightly more risk. Would’ve done alright if was in it over the past year!

Tax bill?

I had the same issue and started a thread on it if you do a search.

ETA: Mine has remained in a Chase SA at 4% mostly through laziness.
