I didn't know this - just dial 159 to phone your bank.

I’m guessing it phones the bank which your mobile bill is attached to.

Not sure how useful it is really, anyone that’s not on the radar to hang up immediately to someone impersonating a bank isn’t going to remember 159

You get a voice prompt asking you to name your bank. All the main UK ones are part of the scheme.
159 is the diagonal on the keypad - easy to remember.
