Anon account - long-time pistonheader... Any advice on choosing a solicitor for fairly amicable divorce proceedings? No children, 20 years, nothing too messy - just want to make sure I don't get completely screwed over as I've not been through this before frown

Any recommendations in the SW would be good - I'm assuming there's not much benefit in a local firm?

Thanks all

Ex and I used amicable. Online platform, worked well - but we're on good terms. Quite reasonably priced all things considered; £750 if my memory serves.

He's now moved on, but still an outstanding solicitor

You can do the divorce part on the .gov website without a solicitor.

The financial order is when you might need a solicitor although I have read you can also do that without. No kids should be fairly straight forward.

Yes, as mentioned above, you can use an online company for the financial bit. We also used Amicable. It was about £950.
