Anon account - long-time pistonheader... Any advice on choosing a solicitor for fairly amicable divorce proceedings? No children, 20 years, nothing too messy - just want to make sure I don't get completely screwed over as I've not been through this before frown

Any recommendations in the SW would be good - I'm assuming there's not much benefit in a local firm?

Thanks all

Ex and I used amicable. Online platform, worked well - but we're on good terms. Quite reasonably priced all things considered; £750 if my memory serves.

Matthew was recommended to be, when he was at BDB Pitmans

He's now moved on, but still an outstanding solicitor

Having no children should in theory make it a lot easier. How much does your wife earn relative to you? If it is similar then I find it hard to understand how it could go anything other than 50/50?

Maybe I am being naive here

You can do the divorce part on the .gov website without a solicitor.

The financial order is when you might need a solicitor although I have read you can also do that without. No kids should be fairly straight forward.
