I am going to send my car from Europe to the UK for bodywork restoration, should this be subject to UK vat as I have to pay import duties and European vat on the cars return to Europe?

Is the car UK Registered and after restoration you'll import to Europe?

If it's already your car, you will need to pay UK VAT on the restoration service. It won't be exported goods.
