How long is a piece of string? Well, there's a question.

How much cash reserve is "enough" to hold in retirement? There's another question.

I spotted this article on the Fidelity website which may be of interest to some people, the length of their particular piece of string varying with how much "secure" income they already have. The whole article is worth a look and this extract particularly caught my eye,

"If your cash holdings are enough to cover six, seven or even more years of spending, it may be more than you need especially if you re not actively using it."

Interesting reading , thanks for posting.
What of course doesn’t get mentioned is what a persons “ comfort “ factor is in terms of the amount of cash held and also relatively of cash held to SM and other investment.
Age and future plans might also be a factor needed in the equation.
