A real blast from the past. I actually structured and sold these things way back when…I’d completely forgotten about them. Should I stick some cash in them nowadays? Do they trade / does the bid / offer kill the yield? Anyone got any?! Thanks

I have some in my stocks & shares ISA

I initially bought a couple of thousand 6.5% Nationwide building society @£.985 but they did a compulsory buy back after a year or so. I made 6.5% on my investment plus another 1.5 pence on each £ invested.

I also have some Newcastle building society, some @8% and some @6.5%. I'm in for the long haul so I'm more interested in the long term yield and less concerned about the bid price.

I'm not that concerned about a buy back as I've earned more than the bid price in interest so if they do get bought back I won't be out of pocket but as I said, I bought them as a very long term investment.
