I'm looking at getting a card I can use for all of my purchases, then clear at the end of the month. Simple, all will allow this.

But, what will give me the most rewards, cashback, vouchers, airmiles etc?

Have a read of these and figure out what would be most useful:

The Amex 1.5% cashback is pretty good, not all places take them but the most common spending (fuel, supermarket) should be ok.

Egg are bring back their 1% cashback card.
Failing that there are specific cards that may offer benefits applicable to you, for example Play.com give 1% back if you like DVDs and cds, Shell give 1% cashback plus 3% off fuel if you drive a car, or Sky offer discounts off your monthly subscriptions...

I've found the egg money card very good (Different to the egg credit card). It pays 1% cash back on all spending (up to a maximum cash back of £200 i think). It used to pay a good rate on positive balances too. But no longer does.

I use an Amex BA card, mostly for business use so pay in full every month.

I've been using this one as my only cc for a couple of years. It's nice and simple, is accepted everywhere, and Egg were very good at dealing with a fraud and issuing a replacement card.

The cashback deal is nice and simple, although others have better introductory offers.

They've started charging for egg money card now. I think its £1 a month for new subscribers. They have added some insurance policies as well.
