I ordered a ventilation accessory and paid over the phone by credit card this morning. Later on in the day I disovered exactly the same product miles cheaper with free postage. I'm a bit uncomfortable about it but I'd like to get the credit card payment refunded and buy from the other seller.

Where do I stand (legally) on this?

Legally: http://www.oft.gov.uk/advice_and_resources/resourc...

Dont know about a credit card refund, but there is a seven day cooling off period. You will be liable for the return postage cost I think.

Why not ring the firm first thing tomorrow morning and cancel (or why didnt you do it earlier today?), they may not have posted it yet?

Thanks for the info. I phoned back earlier this evening in fact and left a message with a colleague (he was out). I was wondering what the likely outcome would be.

I imagine the likely outcome is that Plotloss will be along to tell you the reason your life is st is because you buy as cheaply as possible.

He has a point. Listen to him

I have had the pleasure of doing business with Matt and he knows his stuff. But he is not involved here.

It's a free market right? Everyone always says so.

People complain that a product is too expensive and the reply is "ok, so don't buy it then".

Fair enough but it works both ways. Identical product, identical service, one price higher one lower.

What fool would pay more? Business is business, non?

Anyway, that's not what the thread was for.

ETA And my life is great thanks hehe
