Guaranteed loans and credit history
Discussion
Afternoon!
Some advice from those that know would be appreciated!
I find myself in a crappy position credit wise, I have a high credit score on Experian but no credit history as I have no debt, no loans, no credit cards etc. I have worked all over the world for many years so have not been on the electoral roll since I was at my parents a long time ago, I have applied to be added at my current flat but appear to have just missed the last deadline so probably won't be on there until the next round of additions.
I earn ok money, over £45k, have less than £1k outgoings a month and some cash in the bank but will want to get a mortgage in the future so need to start buying stuff to get a credit history.
I have the cash to buy myself a nice little car but think maybe I should go for some sort of guaranteed finance instead. Does anyone have any experience of this sort of thing? Any recommendations for companies to use? How are people building credit history out there?
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
Mat.

get a credit card, any card will do, use it for all your normal purchases and pay it back in full when the bill arrives. Phone contracts etc also will help.

Also if the limit is not much, you can ask them to double it or so every 6 months.
