I keep getting calls from them asking when i can go in for a 'financial review' First time i went i was pretty worried, took the afternoon off of work an went in. Guy asked me loads of questions even about my GF's salary etc. As im saving for a house etc with a view to a mortgage i humoured the questions. Guy wandered off and came back saying you have a platinum account and there is no better account for me. See you later, after taking an afternoon off and wasting money on car parking i wasnt happy.
Now every 2-3 months they call up saying when can you come in to see us about a review. Its starting to really annoy me as i dont have time to be taking holiday for them to try and sell me things i dont want or need!!
On top of this for the past year they send without fail once a month a letter offering me a top-up of £x,000 loan at a respectable % ( HA!! cheapest being 14% highest being 24.9%). My loan of £8k @ 6% has £300 left to pay and even today i got a letter saying do i want to top it upto 11,000 with a rate of 14%. WTF are they playing at!!
Im getting seriously hacked off and considering cancelling all my accounts (2 current, 1 savings and a C/C) with LLoyds and moving bank. Is anyone else having issues with their sales techniques?? Any idea how to get them to stop?? i've already tried getting shirty witht eh guy on the phone saying i'll phone them if i want anything but aparently its not worked!!

Closing your accounts will not necessarily stop the inconvenience of these calls and hassle as to my knowledge all high street banks adopt this (flawed, crude and unprofessional) sales technique.
I would call them up and inform a Decision Maker that you do not want to receive any such marketing calls/mail etc from them every again. I’d also mention that as you have previously stated this (and they have ignored your request) then they are in breech of the FSA’s “Treating Customers Fairly” rules and regulations – and if they continue to ignore your requests (and legal rights) then you will close your accounts and report them to the FSA.
As I’m sure you are aware the main cause of this is the fact that “Financial Advisers” and “Customer Assistants” in the high street banks have very high targets for; number of outbound calls made, number of financial reviews undertaken, number of new products sold to existing customers etc. etc.
Hence existing bank customers are forever bombarded/harassed with offers for Home Insurance, Credit Cards, Loan Top-Ups, “Premium” bank accounts, Savings plans, Investment plans etc.
Thank yourself lucky that you are not (I presume) a little old lady (or man) as people I know who work for these institutions say that older people are perceived as “softer” sales targets and less financially savvy - thus they are more heavily marketed/harassed than the average customer - disgusting but very true.
If the above all fails, tell them that as a shareholder and customer you just want to be left to carry on with your job uninterrupted - as if not then you may struggle to make the repayments on your loan and they’ll be back on the phone hassling you again!!! ;-)

They onyltry and nab me for this when I go into a branch (about once every 6 months) - I politely reply that I've done this and the last tinme they faield to give me any of the information I required and failed to pass my details on to the relevant 'Manager'
they seem then to understand they failed the first time and won't be getting a second opportunity.

I'm also with the dark horses, and I find even some of the counter staff are so agressive about the fact that I only want a classic account that they seem ready to punch through the screen to throttle me. I'm thinking of one larger lady at the branch near work in particular - she was a total nightmare, so much so I stopped attending for a while (thankfully she appears to have moved on). But she was by no means the only culprit.
