I need some advice from a legal type bod or someone who klnows about money held in trust.

The background is a sum of money was put into a trust fund and held in trust for my sister and i untill we turned 21, the trustee was our father, however we fell out with our father and all contact between us has been terminated for a long time now (6 years at time of writing)

I only found out about the money last week, so my questions are these:

- Have we waited too long to do anything about the money? (im 26 and sister is now 24)

- What if any course of action is available to my sister and i? can we just roll into the lawyers office say who we are (backed up ofc)and ask for access?

or will we need to get intouch with our father? (a course neither of us want to take)

any advice is greatly appreciated.

Who was it that originally provided the cash or assets fro the trust fund?

Which firm of solicitors or accountants set up the trust?

Who are/were the co-trustee(s)?

Where was/is the trust fund held?

Right, sorry for all the questions but the best thing you can do, seeing as though you know who set up the trust is to contact the firm of solicitors. You should give them a call first and explain the situation to them and they should point you in the right direction from there.
