Im loosing my patence with HSBC's website. How can i book a meeting with an "advisor" or my bank manager at my local branch? There are no branch phone numbers on the web and i cant find a button to press.

I am only back in the uk for 2 days and i could really do with booking it in advance so i can beg on my knees for some reddies to finance a V8 smile

I don’t think you can on line [ stands to be corrected ] but if you call 08457 606060, ignore the robot female voice for a while, pretend you’re a new customer, eventually, you will get through to what I believe to be a human!
I am waiting for a call back I made Monday to make an appointment at my bank. It’s a bloody joke these days trying to talk to the HSBC,, tossers!

P.S. The shotgun advice will work the fastestsmile

Any bank that made it that difficult simply wouldn't get my custom.

Get a premier account and you’ll have a named account manager who’s always on tap to discuss your requirements, will move money around for you, organise loans without paperwork and you’ll get an out of business hours telephone line in the UK where you can talk to a real person who is helpful & courteous.

+ you get all these benefits internationally.

I love HSBC.

Turn up at your branch, take a seat, a paper and coffee and wait for a spotty teen to "advise" you.

Have just changed to premier myself. Transition was nice and easy, all the paperwork done for me and the service was certainly much better. Haven't really used any of the benefits yets though.

Type in HSBC in the company search tool bar, likely chances are the branch you are looking for will be there and another positive you'll have the actual landline number for them too.

Cheers all and skenergysolution

I got my mum to walk down to the local branch and make me an appointment in the end. If they duck it up i can try the whole "i just flew back 1000 miles for this appointment approach" smile

So, hopefully by tomorrow lunchtime i can go fast Audi shopping

I think they recently let anyone have a premier account for a monthly fee, I don't know what it is, but if you've ever been on hold, pressing multiple options on the telephone key pad and wanted to throw it out of the window (or organise an appointment), it must be worth it.

Big thunbs up from me.

You can pay for a Plus account without meeting criteria which will give you many of the benefits but not sure on service. Premier is free for people earning 100k and have an IFA product with them or if you have 50k with them. Historic accounts that no longer meet criteria are charged at ~£20 p/m. At least that was what i believe to still be true, won't be too far off if not.

HSBC seem to work on the model of turn up and see someone for their 'core market' customers.

Whatever you do, don't try calling the 'standard' number....

It's like trying to deal with Vogons.

Me. "Hi, I want to book a meeting with a business manager for tomorrow in Cheltenham"

HSBC (middle east) "You want to book a meal with a manger in Chatham?"

Me "No, a meeting, with a manager, in Cheltenham"

HSBC "Chunnithing?"

Me "Chelt - en - ham"

HSBC "Is that in London?"

Me "It's in Cheltenham. In Gloucestershire. In England"

HSBC "I cannot see a Chuudingdum in Glossishter"

Me "No, that's probably because I live in Chelt - en - ham, Glouc - es - ter - shire"

HSBC "I am sorry, could you repeat the name?"

Me "No, I'm bored now, sorry"

HSBC "Is there anything else I can help you with?"

Me "No, but thanks anyway"

OK How about this. After waiting 10 mins to get through I was told that I could not make an appointment for my 20 year old daughter as data protection prevents this. I asked to make an appointment for myself and then swopping her in to be told that this was impossible as they have to have the right "profile" . They deserve to go down the tube. This is why I bank at Handelsbanken where the Manager always speaks to me and is able to make decisions. I would run a mile from the nonsense of HSBC

They also wouldn't let me book an appointment for you either. Dumbass
Your daughter is 20 years old. Why can't she do this herself?

Easy answer is to leave significant amounts of money in your current account. I had a bit of cash "resting" there for a few months and they were all over me like a rash.

I have a Premier account and I too can't fault HSBC. Whenever I phone I get straight through to a UK call centre. I rarely speak to my accounts manager but he was very helpful when I took out my first mortgage a couple of years and having his mobile number was handy during that process.
