best buy to let morgage?

Anyone got one of these recently? Its for an existing property that my chum needs to let out rather than live in now - what rate did you get and are they any easier to get than say last year? any other things to look out for?

They aren't difficult to get if all the numbers add up.
The rates vary, its the fees that range from ok ish to "fk me how much" at the moment.

LTVs are lower than they were, and criteria are stricter.

if he currently has a mortgage and simply wants to let it out then move back in at a later date, then he just needs to ask / inform his mortgage company who may or may not increase his mortgage interest (if he *really* wants, plenty dont bother but you take your chances ...)
