Non Residency Advice
Discussion
Looking for some advice from those in the know.
Tax year 2009 / 2010 I spent 104 days in the UK, hence paid full UK tax
Tax year 2010 / 2011 I spent 71 days in the UK, hence paid no tax
Tax Year 2011 / 2012 I will spend about 71 days in the UK again
I thought that I could average the first two years out and reclaim the tax I paid in 2009 / 2010
My accountant has advised me not to do this as it's better to be out of the UK as much as possible in the first year of non-residence as it's subject to revenue approval.
Is this what others would advise or should I go ahead and re-claim the tax??
