So I just logged into my Hotmail account after not going on it for a week (I get all my email forwarded to my phone so don't go online very often)

Whilst on there, I noticed I had 2 emails in my Deleted Folder, so I had a look (as I haven't deleted anything recently) and found 2 Emails, 1 from Paypal, the other from Dominos Pizza....

Basically, some robbing fker has got into my Paypal, used my card to order £105 worth of Pizza (for collection) and then has got into my email and deleted the email, obviously hoping it wouldn't be noticed and they'd get to carry on.

I've changed the passwords on my paypal, email and forums (just in case) and logged a case with Paypal, I've also rung Lloyds and spoken to them. The money is still waiting to clear (marked funds) and they can't see where the money is going.

Once it clears, they can raise a case to get it refunded, but I have to wait until then.

Realistically, where do I stand on this? Am I going to get my cash back???? frown

Cheers all. frown

I would worry how someone got your passwords - Might be worth checking your PC for malware / trojan type problems

Is the card connected to your paypal account a credit card or debit card?

Debit. I've spoken to paypal ave they've said that they'll look into the ip address that logged in and used my account, as long as its not one I've ever used (which it shouldn't be) I get the money back.

Bank has said they will do a reversal for me if needed..

You can set up your paypal account now so it texts you a unique code when you log in which you need to put in the site before you can access the account.

It's not totally secure though, if you don't have your phone on you they just ask a couple of extra security questions instead. Better than nothing though.

I use it and it's good to have the extra bit of security.

Use better passwords and don't use the same one for all your accounts in future.

I'm not taking the piss here, but who orders over £100 worth of pizza? And why steal someone's card details to do so? If you order that much, it's assumed that there are a lot of people who can chip in for it, so why bother?

actually doesn't take that much to order £100's worth of Domino's.... large family or group of friends easily get to that amount.

yikes Bloody hell! On the rare occasions i get pizza, we go to one of the indie locals. They do a 15 inch for about £7 and it tastes as good as, if not better than Domino's.

It's still a ttish thing to steal someone's paypal details for a few pizza's.

And that came to over £100!? Not worth it.
