Mrs Puggit is intent on spending £300 on a shower head. Ok, it's a 'rainfall' shower head with an extra lower attachment (presumably to clean your bits?).

I had to go and visit B&Q for something else, and walked past said shower head as requested. It reaffirmed my belief that it was over priced by around a factor of 10.

So where can I get this showerhead for the price of a computer game as opposed to the price of the computer itself?! (and I won't be forking out for plastic with metal paint on it which breaks after 2 years).

Big Al.

What she really wants is a box of choccies and a romantic weekend away, or possibly just a vibrator.

Most Plumbers Merchants will be able to get hold of a wide variety of bathrooms fittings and fixtures.

DIY stores are wildly overpriced for things like this.

There's lots of very well priced bits and bobs on fleabay, I got all the taps for my bathroom from there at a fraction of the cost they would have been from most places.

Same for light fittings, massively cheaper.

Definitely worth a gander.

This

Bathstore and esp B&Q is tragically bad

I bought exactly what you are describing for a song on ebay. The mixer alone would have broken my foot in half if dropped - solid brass (plated) and looked like new after 5 years

yes

I got my in built Mira shower with fancy rainfall type head, shower tray and waste kit, shower enclosure, vanity unit with sink, sink tap and a bog. All off ebay for half the price of anywhere else.

In fact I got the toilet for free. It was advertised as a short projection bog but turned out it wasn't. The Ebay seller just refunded me and said keep it.....in the end it actually fits fine...result!

I used that company on ebay, very cheap for what it is i thought compaired to what I was looking at in shops.

Time will tell, all the chrome might fall off but I'm happy so far!

I use phoenix:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Phoenix-VP007-Thermostatic-S...

I got the next model up with a normal shower arm on hose to clean the shower and its build quality is superb.

proper metal shower head and arm, none of this bathstore plastic with chrome finish crap that peels off in months.

Walk away from bathstore and B&Qs and go to an independent and look at their catalogues and see what you like, then see if someone like phoenix makes a model as they see to be in the mid range price bracket.

Also this is a good place to buy from:

http://www.tapsandshowers.com/

I used them when redoing my bathroom.

I like, lots.

Where did you find your sink? It is the exact type that I want for my "bonus phase" en-suite.
Also where did the white brick size tiles come from?

Cheers

I used these for some bathroom taps about 3 years ago - they were much cheaper than B&Q. They are still in fine working order too, which is good as they were a temporary fix that has turned into something more permenant!

£179 plus postage - looks the same but would be worth checking first.

Thanks

the sink is a Shires Adelphi (you can get them with a normal pedestal as well) from funnily enough Plumbworld - good discounts!

The brick size tiles were a PITA - I did every single one - from ebay - search for white tile brick
