Tried last year but the largest only grew to around 4ft. I currently have 10 plants in the conservatory (grown from seed) I'm thinking of planting them out in the garden this week. Any tips or advice please? I like to harvest the seeds to feed to the birds in the winter.

I've been at the same game for a few years..with mixed results.Got to about 5 feet but I WANT MORE lol

Loads of sun all day, sheltered from too much wind and next to a high wall if you can.I always add some 'liquid grow' or whatever it's called, just to top up the

nutrients in the soil..Good Luck.If you have any success pls post the results,as will I.

We grew some a couple of years ago which were quite tall. We used large pots with a cane support, lots of water & plant food and put them against the house wall on a south facing position. I think the position helps, not only keeping wind away but the wall stores heat during the day and probably allows a warmer night.
