Anyone had silverfish in there house?

Just noticed a couple in the kitchen when turned on the light. Any ideas how to get rid of them?

Thanks

You have a damp problem in the room somewhere!! Check for leaking waste pipes, taps etc under kitchen cupboards floor boards etc etc

Once that's sorted they will die off or use a pyrethroid based spray all over the room or dust with a bendiocarb powder under the cupboard!!

Ant spray is what we use, keeps them down for a while, but we've never managed to get rid completely, they come in to the downstairs loo.

Not a health hazard by any means.

I only ever seem to notice them during the summer months. I never saw them at all during the winter.

Live in West Yorkshire, UK.

I don't think the house is damp however there is a cellar (under stairs) that does appear damp as it is below ground level (1800's house) but they are noticed in the kitchen.

I'll go to B and Q and buy some spray also!
