I'm looking at adding some trellis to our garden as we have a long part of it that backs onto a footpath, so looking for a little more privacy.

The panels however are all 10ft long, and i'm struggling to find anywhere which does 10ft trellis.

Has anyone on here made their own trellis, and did it end up working out cheaper, or was it just a huge hassle for not much cost saving?

Cheers

Any good, any branches near you?

I think you'll need intermediate addition supports anyway.

A couple of timber yards near to me make fencing panels, trelis etc to order. Sure if you ring around there'll be someone near you who'll do it

Bingo! Once i'd navigated their appalling website, found they've got a place near to work. Seems pretty expensive but at least it'll give me a chance to go have a look.

The trellis in my garden was made from roofing laths. If you have the patience, this may be a cheaper alternative.

what he said......roofing battens are the way to go,cheap, solid, pressure treated...basically just measuring and nailing/screwing together (although can be rather heavy so need to check support posts/put up intermediate support to avoid future 'sagging')
