Toilet soil pipe - need to be on external wall?

Im after some advice about sourcing a toilet and basin for an ensuite project.

The plans I've had drawn up show the position of the toilet backing onto the stub wall, however I'm unsure whether it is a requirement / recommendation for the toilet to back onto the exterior wall (meaning the soil pipes can go straight the the wall vs. Having a bend in it).

Also, any good or bad experiences of corner toilets? Might be a good way to compromise between being attached to the stud wall/exterior wall!

So long as you can get to the soil, vent pipe with a 1:40 fall then you can put it where you like really. Use ONLY proper soil fittings, no silly flexible rubbish, but be warned... SOME modern pans will not let a soilpipe go left or right as the gap to the wall is not big enough. These HAVE to go backwards or downwards.
