Petrol leaf blower / vac recommendation, wife friendly
Discussion
new house, big garden ..... need advice! Looking at the options, there are 2 i can see, either a blower or combined blower / vac. Like the idea of a vac one, but are they any good? Also the wife would need to use it so needs to be as light as possible. Has anyone got any real world experience as I dont want to by a pup. Cheers
buy a Stihl. end of discussion. I killed a Draper electric blower after about 5 goes. The Stihl is just a top quality machine. The vac works surprisingly well but the bag fill sup quite quickly. You do have to be careful not to vac too much dirt as it really wears out the internals.
I used the blower for leaves and also to clear the path of snow in the winter so you can justify the greater expense by using it all year.
It is light enough for the missus to use and is well designed with good weight balance. Starts easly as well with the ErgoStart or whatever its called.

I bought a Stihl blower like this one:

It's been totally reliable and easy to use (it's a back pack ghostbusters thing).
Personally, having mucked with vacuums, I'd say a blower is better.
Backpack is the only way with large garden!!!

And stihl is also the only way to buy, look at any professional or hire shop and they all have stihl!!!!
