second request for help! but better to seperate into two threads so it doesn't get mixed up.

right!

I have a massive garden.
From the back of the house it slopes up so that after maybe 3/4 metres it's almost 2 metres higher than at the house. then it's flatish for a few metres then there's a big pond with lethal sides that's about 1.5-2metres deep (if it was ever full to the top which it isn't ever.

Amongst other things we want to re-landscape to 'puch back' the earth that's in front of the pond into the pond and have a flat bit behind house and than a gradual slope up to the other side of the pond.

there will be a need for at least some minor 'retaining structure' at one side of garden and something more substantial at other side of garden.

Will also require demolition of existing brick built ponds near house and brick built steps. and very low brick built wall that holds back some earth (which doesn't need to be there so not really 'retainin' as such i don;t think). i think all this bit is wuite easy as just needs some electricity disconnecting (has s0ckets by ponds for old owners pond heater thingies) then then just needs battering with the digger i think!

limited by width to get machinery in at side but it'd be wide enough for a very slowly driven Focus (for eg!) so could get one of those bigger sized smaller 'Kubota'-type excavators in.

so it's a pretty decent sized job. someone has basically quoted 3 working weeks. obviously i want a few quotes and different views on how best to do the job etc. (and obviously desperately hoping that someoe else can do it it well but cheaper! wink
