We have a few touch lamps in the lounge. Never given much thought to how they work but it is a fact that once a bulb fails whilst they are in thire 'on' mode the replacement bulb becomes stuck on and the touch switch becomes ineffective.

Is there any remedy for this or must I fit a cheap 'in line' switch?

Now that's funny because the first thing I'd do is think 'How does that work?'

A: Hand capacitance.

However I can't answer your question, sorry!
