Paint Pads, Any Good?

As per the title. I'll soon have to paint several rooms with emulsion and would appreciate opinions on pads v rollers for ease of use, coverage and quality of finish etc.

Pads are good for doing up to edges and corners, I personally prefer a roller for doing the rest of the wall

Not quite the same but I've just tried using foam brushes for varnish and they're brilliant. Harder to wash out but give a glassy smooth surface with no bits or bristles.

Really depends on preferences. For the majority of stuff brush, roller or pad is fine. Cutting in is best with brushes and some practice, pads don't really do better than adequate.
