Just noticed a fine hairline crack in my bathroom sink. It's only 2-3 yrs old so I'm miffed to say the least.

Can I repair this, or if it's gone right through, will I need a new one?

Thanks!

Nick

Not worth a claim I'd have thought, unless it's expensive.

I did wonder on insurance actually. I suppose the OH dropped something into it as there is a very small chip point at the centre.

It is a custom fit job as it sits on top of a cabinet, so not your bog (haha) standard sink really.

Bottle of Calpol fell out of the cupboard above a while ago and cracked our sink. Claimed on the insurance. They paid I fitted the sink myself ( that saved the money the excess cost) Sorted.

Well, last time I claimed on my insurance they wanted almost twice the premium at renewal, so check first.

Basin lads, come on now! sinks are in kitchens.

Do you know what basin it is? Might be able to get another one cheaper than claiming on insurance. Also see how the taps are connected up underneath.

But if the worktop/ vanity unit is matched to the basin and this is no longer available, it might be worth an insurance claim to get something matching?

Try the Magic Man. They do laminate repairs but I think they do stuff like basins and baths as well.
