like this here i have 2 large dogs and when i clean there poop up it used to go in the bin in a special bag( but that stinks) so i bought one of theese jobbies like this
It works but the solution for 12months is £4.99 (when in all honeslty i have to use a bottle a week) it works and doesn't smell just wondered what the main chemical/biological ingredient is to see if i can buy this on a larger scale if available and save some dough..
OR if there is an alternative .

kind regards johny

out of interest how do the rest of the ph collective get rid of it without stinking the garden out?

The activator isn't to hide the smell. You really do need only 5ml a week, but you also need time too, it is full of biological bacteria that will "digest" the poo, this unfortunately takes time!

Try planting a load of lavender near the bin! That and keep the lid on! My grandparents used to have exactly the same kit with three dogs and it barely smelled unless you gor right up to it!

the bin doesn't smell until i hose it down once a week, it just seems that it gets full of 'muck' i hoze it down and its full within 2days again (its quite deep) and they dont crap that much. so my conclusion is that its not working fast enough, so i started to use a good 'glug' of the stuff that worked better.

also threw the last bottle so i've no idea

Is it one of the ones with an almost completely open bottom? If so you could make it deeper and line the bottom with gravel, might improve things.

If it actually contains bacteria (special biological ones!) then can't you keep the culture going virtually indefinitely? Sounds like a home sewage plant - but it will need air to work.

Been using one for a few months now (sorry, dog has!) and works great, just follow the instructions and you can't go wrong :-)

Only other thing I saw that would work well was one of these
