Boiler problem

Random problem this afternoon.

Found we had no hot water even though the boiler was running. Checked the rads and found that they were on even though they were supposed to be off.... guessing it's some sort of valve/switch problem but is there anything a technical numpty like me can do to try and fix it bearing in mind I've tried the turning it off and on again already...?

Is it a combination boiler or a conventional boiler?

If its a combi, sounds like the diverter valve could be at fault.

If it is a conventional boiler it is most likely to be a zone valve or three port valve at fault.
