I have bagged up an old solar cover for a swimming pool - it's a lot of plastic. Do you know if a local council dump will take it?

I don't want to go to all the hassle of taking it down there just to be told they won't.

Anyone know?

I would expect them to take it but it would be sensible to call them beforehand to check.

How big can it be?

We had an 18ft one that we just cut in 4 or 5 bits and stuck out for the bin men over a couple of weeks.

35 feet long, 17 feet wide. It seems even bigger now it's off the pool.

The bin men around here are a very rare species and extremely sensitive about what they will and won't take.

Roll it up and take it to the tip. At worst it will go in the 'not recycleable' skip.
