Hi guys,

So a few of the local scallywags have been targeting my parents neighbourhood (hooking keys, breaking in at night etc.) which is obviously a concern. I'm very tempted to organise them a decent alarm system but am at a bit of a loss where to start.

They have a couple of dogs that are kept downstairs and a wondering cat that has the run of the house. Are these pet friendly alarms any good?

ADT seem to do a monthly subscription thing... again, worthwhile or a waste of my hard earned?

And what about garages etc? They have a detached double garage with electric doors. Any particular system cover this as well?

Basically, anyone have any good or bad experiences? There seems to be a lot out there with little real life info.

Ideas of cost would be great as well.

Thanks all.

I work in the Inturder Alarm industry and would recomend you opt for a local independant NACOSS approved alarm company. The 'Nationals' are so big you will just be another number.
The customer service of the one you mentntioned above I have heard to be shocking and I have the displeasure of ripping out some of their installations.
