Ok so I have a gig lined up in London.

Near Primrose Hill....

Where would you recommend me to stay for 3months+?

Cheapest I can find is studio for 1400-1500.

Not really up for paying that, may have to be a roomshare!

Should've gone into more detail, anywhere near enough but cheaper rent?

You might have to furnish us with budgets etc. Although, personally I wouldn't share a room for a 'gig' unless it was paying plenty - and then I'd just rent a house.

Well, that's why I teased with Primrose Hill. Now you've given some idea of budget, I'd suggest Camden Town, Swiss Cottage, Gospel Oak or Kentish Town - all close, but cheaper.

Well i was hoping to keep it under 1k -- was looking at the likes of Spareroom etc.

It's a 3 month contract too so that may cause problems with rent terms.

Heading out Kilburn / Queens Park way, or Tufnell Park / Archway should be cheaper but still walkable, which saves you £100/month on a travelcard.

What's Camden Town like?

I'm heading towards a Flatshare tbh.

It's a cop out answer but Camden is VERY street specific....there are some very nice roads (and expensive) where there are lots of families...there are also lots of less nice areas where I wouldn't want to live. Not much middle ground. Camden obviously gets extremely busy at the weekends because of the market....if you like live music, going out etc it's a good place to be if you like a quieter life you might not like it.

Swiss Cottage, West Hampstead are quieter and less bohemian than Camden but will be a bit more expensive. Flatshare is a good way to go as I suspect the fact you only want three months might restrict your choice a bit. Kilburn has got a similar feel to Camden (without the multi million pound houses at the top end) and again has good and bad bits but is easy to get to from Primrose Hill as there is a bus there's a good bus route you can use.
