Hello,

Bought a gas hob to mount in my kitchen worktop, now I need to get an oven with a grill to go underneath. Should this be electric or gas and why? I'm a numpty when it comes to knowing about kitchen appliances so any help appreciated. Is one cheaper to run than the other? More reliable? Cook better hehe ?

Got a cooker ring circuit already in place, and can easily tee off the gas pipe going to the hob if neccessary.

Just like to know if one is better than the other.

Cheers smile

Gas is easier to control quickly (boiling over pans) and an electric fan oven has an even heat throughout instead of a hot middle, cool bottom and roasting top!

I think this is the ideal - we have a range cooker which has a gas hob and electric ovens and it works well. Definitely gas for the hob though

Theres a reason that top chefs dont use electric hobs in restaurants smile

An electric oven will give u a similar level of control as a gas hob.
