Anyone know of a good supplier of the above in London/South East? I need to buy two ton bags of manure and a ton bag of compost! Needs a supplier that has got a crane on the back of a lorry that can lift the bags across the pavement.

Well according to this website each horse produces 20 kilos a day so a couple of week's supply should do you? Maybe a boot load from Newmarket racecourse?

Failing that, try googling

Back of the local free papers is probably the best bet for cheapness, it's usually got rid of locally.

KPC composting may deliver that far, but does your council collect green waste? If it does look on their website for details of what happens to it. They'll usually have details on how to buy it back from them.

Incidentially why the need for 2 tons of manure and 1 of compost?

Thanks....the council might be a good shout. Being in London there aren't many horses locally...also it needs to be "well rotted" so it doesn't stink and the straw etc has been broken down. If I put two tone of fresh horse manure in the back garden my dog wouldn't know what to do with itself.......

Not sure...that's what the gardener told me! They said manure is better but there are places that compost needs to be put down because of the plant types.

By the way having checked its KPS Composting. I think you'll find that googling will also find people that deliver these items in bulk, although finding those that are local without huge transport costs can be difficult!
