Just had a garden office built (3mx4m) - fully insultaed, plastered, etc - proper room! (not a shed!)

Just laying the wood floor in there today and its HOT! Now i have a "stick the pipe out the window" air con unit and plan A is to use that with a proper hole drilled through the wall and pipe the pipe straight through that (and not the window...which is ugly as hell)
But it runs noisy so is not ideal.....would a "on the wall" unit be better/overkill????

If you get a split unit then the "noisy" bit goes on the outside, with just a quiet fan on the inside blowing cold air around.

I've got a heat exchanger in mine. So cools in summer and heats in winter. I've got loads of books and papers in there so originally specified it for the heating function, but really glad I did now as the front is all glass and gets quite warm in summer.

with 12sqm of floor area you only need a tiny heat pump, just make sure it does heating as well as cooling.

With such a small area you don't need to worry too much about efficiency, so nothing really wrong with going for a cheap unit - but I would still suspect the best part of a thousand pounds to supply and install.

You could always buy a cheap unit and do part of the install yourself.

You only need a oouple of kilowatts.
