Garage remote? duplicate options?

I've just moved into a new gaff and have an ancient remote powered garage door - the system operates on 40MhZ apparently which they stopped using in the eighties.

think it is this one

Ideally - I'd like to get a tiny remote added to my key fob - so i dont have to pocket this brick each time i go out for a bike ride....

I've seen 'universal' remotes on the 'bay - but i dont think these operate on such old school frequency as my one...

any amateur radio bods offer any advice? also is there any risk of a radio control plane enthusiast or similar inadvertanly operating my garage door?
