If you're talking electric, Bosch ones seem to be well regarded. I'm happy with mine.

Unless it's really scruffy and slopy, rotaries (i.e. with wheels) give a much better cut than hover/flymo types. Simply because they suck the grass upwards towards the blades.

Bought a rotak last month - great little machine, very pleased with it. Leagues ahead of my old Flymo.

its not messy now after i managed to cut most of it last night before it died but it was most probably 5" long when i started tbh im not sure why the builder didnt cut it before we moved in we only have a front garden at the mo the back is just soil and lots of weeds frown

backs about 11mx9m fronts about 4mx9m so only small ish

last one was a flymo mown vac 900W motor so a rotak with 1700w should be a bit better +_ metal blades rather than crappy plastic things

Bosch Rotak!

I bought my Rotak 34 after spending ages researching. The reviews on Amazon are all great, and after having had it over 2 years, I agree!! I got mine for £75

Does a good job of stripes too biggrin

That's a good advert for the mower in question.

Rotaries will stripe to a degree however you mow as the grass on each side of the mower is flattened slightly in a different direction by the rotating blades. So the stripes will be slightly striped, if you get me.
