If so do something about it - seems that there are around 90,000 out there that can start fires.

You can enter your Model/Serial Number into Beko's web-site and they'll tell you if you're affected, my first job when I get in:

Weren't these slated a while ago for being a little, ahem, 'budget'? The Kia of white goods sort of thing?*

  • With apologies in advance to any PH Beko appliance owners.

Bought ours because it was a Which? best buy and it's been fantastic, apart from potentially burning down the house, of course.

We just threw a 2 year old one away that was left in a house a family member bought as it kept defrosting itself and the compressor was rattling. Heap of junk.

I guess they sell a lot, but there are absolutely loads of negative comments about them on the web.

Freezes, defrosts and cooks the food for you. And heats the house. Their competitors must be worried...

If i had one, i would be replacing it for another brand.

I would not trust the manufacturer.

Then again, i dont own one so i wont.

Or pay with a life.

I have never bought budget as i have seen many times, the problems it causes.

I know some people cant afford to spend loads, but do lots of research first.

we have one, apparently its affected.

not had the slightest bit of trouble in 7 years, so think its probably fine, but will let them come to replace the bit FOC.

Got a washing machine from beko as well.

They may not be miele, but they're more than good enough for us!

Nope, they're now cutting you off if you press the button to tell them that you've filled in the on-line form, despite the on-line form telling you that you still have to phone the number.

I think that it's time to get a new fridge-freezer, it's going to take them a long, long time to sort this mess out and I don't particularly fancy spending the next few months wondering if the house is going to be there when I get home.

I wonder how long it will take them to regain any sort of consumer confidence, if ever.

I know what you mean, we've had it for five years and it hasn't burned the house down, yet.

I expect that a day of failing to get through on their phone-line will put things in perspective.

Samsung had a similar issue not so long back IIRC.
