Hi everyone, hope you can help me.

Since owning my Hotpoint Aquarius dishwasher (last 2 years) I have never had to refill the salt dispenser. When we got it I filled up the salt dispenser with water to the top as indicated in the manual, I then filled it up with dishwasher salt to the max. It is still full with salt when checking the resevoir and we live in quite a hard water area. Is this normal or is there something wrong with it??

NB: I have set the dishwasher to the correct setting in relation to the water hardness levels in our area.

That doesn't sound like it's working. I'm in a hard water area and have to re-fill something like four times a year.

Thats what I'm thinking, for the last two years the crokery has always come out gleaming. Only in the last few months the crokery has started to become cloudy with white stains.

I'm in an extremely hard water zone, (I buy cheap gas kettles and throw them away every three months, the water's that hard) If I let the dishwasher salt run out then everything's instantly covered with cloudy deposits, and I need to top up every month or so. It certainly sounds like something's wrong with your water softener re-gen cycle in your dishwasher.

Turn the "arrow" in the salt adjustment bit to full, also put your fingers in in the salt reservoir and slosh them about till salt is spread about. Do a 60 degree wash then try again.

This is not scentific but worked spot on when our Hotpoint did the same.
