I think I already know the answer to this one! Is it possible to put a movement sensor on a series of lights (external ones) that are also switch operated?

What I'm trying to do is outside lights that come on when the back door is opened for a few seconds/a minute, then a switch to turn them on permanently.

I don't think it's possible without having two circuits running the same route, (i.e - one from the mains through the sensor and one from the mains into the switch) but I'll be chuffed if it is easier than I think it is!!

Most movement sensors are designed to be connected into a switched circuit. Usually turning the switch on, off and back on rapidly switches the sensor into permanent on mode. This can be cancelled by turning the light off for more than 20sec.
