infra red patio heater question

Currently have a gas patio heater which is great, but I feel guilty using it.
I've been looking at parasol mounted infra red heaters. 2kw (500w x 4) seem reasonable at around 120 quid, directional and close enough to warm you when sat round a table. Question is, are they any good?

Why feel guilty using it?

You'd rather use electrickery created by nice fluffy coal fuelled power stations?
