Are you running Scuba gear?
If not, don't suggest you try at all.
If people like you ruled the world we'd of never left our caves!...If not, don't suggest you try at all.
OP, "he who dares, wins!"...get the garden hose out, take off the ends, instant breathing pipe! add 4-6kg's and off you go!
...best keep a friend on the side of the pool to spot you though!

Hard to tell if that was a serious suggestion or not, but if it was, it's so far off it's not even wrong!OP, "he who dares, wins!"...get the garden hose out, take off the ends, instant breathing pipe! add 4-6kg's and off you go!

b
ks would your lung collapse at 8'6"
Pearl divers used to go to depths of 100ft without assistance. I wouldn't suggest you try that but if you just need to pick something up or unblock a filter then I don't think you'd come to much harm if you're in reasonably good shape.
I accept no responsibility for the consequences if this turns out to be wrong

The problem with a long snorkel is that most of the air that you're breathing in is coming from the pipe rather than from the atmosphere. If the volume of the snorkel pipe is more than a certain proportion of the volume of your lungs, you wont get enough fresh air and hence wont get enough oxygen.
I also don't think your diaphragm muscles would be strong enough to breath in under that pressure anyway.

Cheers Mark and louibaby for the weight neccessary.
The point of this is that it takes (for me) about a third of my lung capacity just to get down there
I want to maximise the usable time for the task at hand.Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
