I'm trying to create a pre-planning app for a house extension. I'm required to submit a site plan and a block plan. So the site plan seems easy enough, its a red line round the property boundary.
However I'm confused on the "block plan" - as these instructions:
http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/uploads/1app/maps...
Seem to show essentially the same map just zoomed in a bit. So what am I supposed to be annotating on the block plan?

Cheers.

Block Plans are required at 1:500 to show (primarily) the roof plan / orientation in juxtaposition to neighhbouring properties.

It does just seem like a waste of time and a ticking exercise, so no real annotation is required on this plan.

Note what you need to on your 1:100 or 1:200 Site Plan, and submit the 1:500 Block Plan with a North Arrow just showing the proposed roof plan....

If you need any help, let me know and I'll try and sort you out.....

So do i draw my planned extention footprint on the 1:500 plan or just just draw a red line round the propery boundary again?

I can't understand the need for these, the local authority have all the information they need plus Google Earth and their own proprietary systems, it's just another hurdle to jump over and money to pay out.
