My Mum & Dad have just moved into a new house and in the lounge there are about 4 of these plug sockets. They have no idea what they're for and I dont know either! Tried googling it but couldn't find anything. Anyone here know what these are for?

Jees, I couldn't work out what the hell kind of scoket that was with pink mouldings and stuff.

Then I realised it was actually the reflection of the OPs fat fingers in the shiny surface.

Phew. smile

2A Socket for free standing lights.
There will be a switch locally which will energise these.

Those are sockets. Plugs go into them!
No such thing as a 'plug socket'
