boiler condensate drain - solvent welded?

in a nutshell:

combi boiler, it currently drains from the flexi hose into a bucket but has alwasys been planned to join the washing machine drain stack which i'm fitting this weekend.

matey at b&q tells me that condensate drains should be all solvent welded. google brings up lots of sites [inc. the regs] which do not mention solvent welding at all. my intended install looks sound by the regs.

are there any plumbers / corgi fitters here who can give me a definite answer? i'm renting the house out so needs to be kosher.

Not 100% with you, but you'd normally cone out of the boiler in solvent welded overflow pipe 22mm. If you went outside you'd go up to 32mm or so to avoid freezing.

Basically condensate is acidic, so you can't use metal.

But they normally come out of boilers in flexible plastic/ rubber.
