But not just any ordinary fridge!

Basically, i need a little fridge... that wouldnt look out of place in a living area ie: with a tv and a sofa.... but it needs a small icebox/freezer compartment at the top!

I LOVE this:

But i refuse to pay nearly £600 for a small dinky fridge!!! And i cant find any other brands that seem to do this retro style fridge?!

Someone has suggested i buy a normal type under the counter fridge and cover it with vinyl or frisge stickers, but im just not convinced!

Any one out there got any unusual fridges?! Or any other ideas?!

I remember seeing a carbon fibre fridge a while back but it was silly money!

Got me thinking about using 3M di-noc carbon wrap to cover all my kitchen stuff. That would be a cool way to go.

hahaha yeah i must admit, the appeal of buying just a bland plain fridge, and then wrapping it in something is starting to increase... BUT i just worry about all the little edges and neatness? Plus i fancied something a little bit more novel!

Why arent their any brands out there that look like smeg, just arent as much money!

You may not thank me for this, as I don't think the prices are any better than Smeg (in fact, I would assume vast expense) but they do look more like living room furniture than any white goods I've ever seen.

Meneghini

This place local to me ( Robeys) sells them, but been too afraid to go and price them up.

Wow... yeah... something like that would definitely be more appropriate, but like you say, i reckon i would think the Smeg is cheap in comparison!

Pidsy... good luck! Let us know how you get on, im intrigued!

How about an integrated under-counter fridge and the necessary housing unit/worktop in whatever finish you like to go with it?

Reckon you could do it for about £300

And if I'm right in thinking it's a drinks fridge- why not a tall unit, or high back, for mini-bar, worktop to mix drinks and optics on the back, shelf for glasses on top goodness

I'm after something similar as well - wondered if anyone knows of one which is silent or VERY quiet as I will be sleeping in the same room. Bought one of the glass fronted jobs before but it made quite a racket when it fired up

You should look at "peltier effect" fridges - which are really coolers rather than a fridge. They don't have a freezing compartment.

The only noise is a small fan as there is no compressor.

ETA. You could always use a time clock to avoid a fridge coming on at night. Fill the icebox up and there will be more than enough "cold" to last a few hours.

I got myself a nice Hoover fridge from Costco for around £100. It was £120 I think but with their coupon offer it came down to £100.

£170 in Currys

Look at some hotel fridges, they should be quieter running:

Some are a bit more attractive than your usual white ones so may be an idea for the OP.
