Hi
Having fitted a few sinks (bathroom) I am stumped with one. Its a normal sink on a pedestal except the pedestal curves back and fits totally flush with the wall once the sink is in place.

I thought about flexi pipes which I am not a fan of but how do you check for leaks if you can't get your hands round it once fitted? I am almost thinking they are fitted from the other side of an internal wall? This is not an option as the sink is on an outside wall.

Thanks

The basin is fixed to the wall with fisher bolts and plumbed up.The pedestal then hangs off of the basin, usually on springs but other methods are available.

I know I realise that now! Might have to go on Ebay.

Can you just pull the pedestal away once the sink is fitted or is it attached to the wall/floor ?

I'm at one similar at the moment & could pull the pedestal away if required (flexi's are used but it was actually the drain U bend that gave me a bit of grief with a slight leak)

Can you plumb it in and wait a day or 2 to see if there is any leaks & then finish off once you are happy there is none ?

There is a 'collar' moulded into the underside of the basin so can't push / pull the pedestal in and out once the sink is fitted .

Ive since realised that it also means you can't get to the isolation valves on the hot and cold coming up out of the floor if you ever needed to turn the water off once fitted.

You're just going to have to open the fitting instructions.
