I have broken my pouffe

I was tidying out the kitchen drawers and found a load of old bills/paperwork etc, so decided to have a shredding session. The flex on the shredder doesn't reach to the comfort of the sofa, so I sat on the foot-stool instead.

It would seem I was sitting somewhat lop-sided, as after about five minutes, the legs of my tuffet gave way:



I've had a look and it appears to be unrepairable.

saw off plastic stem flat.

replace square plastic stem with piece of wood fixed to flat ply plate like a T

Screw T to plastic base.

Screw legs to wood

Presto.
