About ten mins if that. Also depends on the size / speed / power of the rideon.

Not long at all. I've got a 60" stiga so that's 10 runs (5 feet wide). 10 runs x 270 feet is 2700 feet which is about half a mile. Assume an average speed of 6mph and that's 5 minutes.

Ok. Thanks. I thought it would take much longer. I guess when I was moving my parents' lawn i was only going 2mph and cutting 18 inches. And I had to empty it after every length. I wonder if I can get a sport chrono pack for a ride on and set myself "challenges"?

Remember that if you have a mulching mower you don't need to stop and empty it every few minutes.

I can cut my 3 acre paddock in less than 2 hours if the grass is being regularly (if the grass is longer the machine has to work harder so is slower - simple really)

Thinking vaguely seriously for a minute, our main lawn is, give or take, about 5500sqm, 59,201ish sq ft. With a 60" cutting deck on a commercial tractory-ride-on-thingie it takes a bit over an hour to do - mainly consisting of fast runs in the open sections, and slower and more care around trees / borders.

So 270x50 = 13,500, which is about a quarter of the size of ours - so about 20 mins rather than ten then. Close!

Also a good point.

So it comes down to speed and size. True PH fashion then!
