Hi all, can ayone recommend a good book or website that can help a novice gardener which will help me with things like, plant identification and care and a diary of when to plant/seed etc?
cheers

Plant identification is a massive subject on its own. However, these aren't the best selling gardening books without good reason:

Randy's on the money for the best books, sadly B&Q dumped them for the Titman range because they know sweet FA about actual gardening and a lot about riding a commercial gravy train.

For a useful website for fruit & veg growing try: http://www.rhs.org.uk/Gardening/Grow-Your-Own

It gives month by month suggestions of what needs doing when for both fruit crops and vegetables. Even the related free iPhone app is useful for some basics and reminders of what you should be doing when.

Book-wise I like Monty Don's books, and particularly 'The Complete Gardener': http://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-Gardener-Monty-Do...
